Are your images being ruined by inaccurate white balancing?
If you can only afford one chart make it a DSC TrueWhite card . . .

. . . and for that popular "warm look" use DSC's calibrated and economical White'nWarm. Crafted with the care and precision you'd expect from the industry's premium test chart maker, White'nWarm is the latest generation of DSC's original CamWhite/Warm product lines.
The story behind warming cards
DSC produced the first commercial warming card at the suggestion of Roger Macie in Dedham, MA. DSC was already making TrueWhite white balancing cards when Roger mentioned that a number of his clients were warming their images by white balancing with a blue filter over the lens. After some months of testing to develop the ideal color, primarily with Roger Macie in Mass and Steve Lucas in Burbank, the first CamWarm's were born.
Versatile tools for video production, White'nWarm can help you improve the production value of your images, and save time and money in post. White'nWarm is the ideal production accessory for camera operators, DPs, producers and directors alike.
Use White'nWarm to white balance any television, video and digital camera having a manual white balance function. White'nWarm includes a "TrueWhite" CamWhite and a warming CamWarm. Surfaces are laminated back-to-back and side-by-side into a single folding card, and enclosed in a convenient protective pouch. White'nWarm is available in Handy and Pocket models.
Simply position the card surface of your choice in front of a camera, illuminate it and white balance. Practical White'nWarm can be handheld, or stands readily on any flat surface. Use White'nWarm with every lighting change.
Important - white balancing to a white or warming card will NOT compensate for a misaligned camera. Whether you align your own cameras or use a camera service shop, for optimum quality and consistency be sure to use DSC test charts and equipment. To learn more these products, please go to front-lit

Benefits
"CamWhite" the TRUE
White card
-
Shoot neutral whites by white balancing to CamWhite. Manufactured using DSC's unique technology, CamWhite chips are spectrophotometrically neutral. Aligning to something that merely "looks" white can distort a camera's colorimetry. `
-
Reproduce skin tones and colors with accuracy; make the most of your camera's alignment. White balancing to a DSC CamWhite ensures that camera matrices reproduce as adjusted. To compensate for discontinuous light sources, such as fluorescents and HMIs, align cameras using a
CamAlign CBGS (Colorbar/GrayScale) or an
Ambi/Combi System lit by the same illuminant before final white balancing.
-
Save time and money in post.
White balancing to a white chip with every change of
lighting helps optimize image quality, expedite and
facilitate video
sweetening.
Benefits of
White'nWarm's "CamWarm"
-
Improve reproduction of the talent and other subjects.
Warm chips are precisely tinted to achieve a warmer white balance and pleasing skin tones.
-
Enhance skin tone reproduction.
White balancing to DSC CamWarm will not change a camera's colorimetry, but will provide a reliable and consistent color shift.
-
Control the degree of skin tone enhancement. Developed in conjunction with industry leaders, DSC CamWarm has been scientifically developed to produce optimal skin tone warming. Lighting conditions, monitor set-up and viewing environment can significantly affect image quality and "look". We recommend thorough pre-testing of any color modifying system before production begins.
-
Reduce set-up time for shoots. Unlike expensive filters, warm chips are quick and easy-to-use - and they will not degrade image quality.

Skin tones have the blues?
Cold and unappealing skin tones are a common TV image quality problem. While monitors used in production are typically set to D65 (6500 K, daylight), most viewers watch images on TV sets that run at a significantly bluer color temperature of 9000o K and higher. And, unlike a darkened theatre where human vision quickly color corrects to the image on the screen, in television viewing our eyes "white balance" on the basic lighting environment in the home, typically a "warm" 2800-3000o K. This makes TV images appear even bluer.
Adding warmth to video images can, to a degree, help compensate for these factors and provide the benefits described above.
Why
White'nWarm is the industry's premium image warming tool
-
White'nWarm's clear washable surfaces reflect unwanted light away from the camera instead of transmitting it as troublesome surface flare.
-
White'nWarm's are totally opaque, eliminating the problem of translucency where backlight (hair kickers, etc.) pollute and give false, inconsistent results.
All the benefits of
White'nWarm's are available individually in CamWhites
and CamWarms
CamWhites and CamWarms feature the same construction as CamAligns, which are almost indestructible. With their aircraft aluminum core and special laminated surface, CamAligns have been dropped into lakes, fallen off buildings (one was blown off a building in Los Angeles - we are told it fluttered to ground and one corner was bent, but it survived and is still in production), some CamAligns are used under the ocean in Florida.
At minimum cost, you can also order a CamWhite or CamWarm surface on the back of your CamAlign grayscale/Colorbar or other patterns.
